Not to fear, there ARE things you can do to make it better, and even make it an enjoyable experience. After all, it IS the beach, for goodness sakes! You should enjoy the atmosphere, and not stress about your body. Let me help you.
Let's start from the very beginning; whether you are at the weight you want to be or not, you should be doing some form of toning exercise. Regardless if you are luscious and curvy, slight and petite, or somewhere in between, it all looks better with a little tone. So, pick up those weights a few times a week and it will improve the overall look of your body. And, just for your health try to walk, swim, bicycle, or do any other form of aerobic exercise 3 times per week. Secondly, drink lots of water for supple skin. It really does make a difference in your skin texture, glow and health (honestly, this is from this nurse's perspective, as well as many, many medical studies). Keep hydrated girls. Your body will be happy for it!

Dry brush your body from toes to head (yes, in that order). There are several good reasons for this. First it removes dead skin, and makes your skin look less ashy, flaky, and dry. Second it helps your lymphatic system work, which keeps everything moving well. Third, it helps prepare your skin for the next tip sunless tanning lotion. Next, the biggie; what to put on that fabulous body. This is what brings fear and trepidation to all women. And why do women have to wear little, tiny bathing suits and men wear big, floppy shorts? Let me just say, life is just not fair. Whatever. Moving on. Here are some rules for bathing suits that will help your body type:

1. If you have big breasts; try to find a suit with a solid or dark color on top. Supportive V-necks are best because they show off the girls, but keep them in place. 2. Big bottom; show off the top! Wear the darker color on bottom, and wear the pattern on top. 3. Little breasts; Padding, rouching, ornamentation, draping of any kind will help. 4. Short legs; French cut legs (a nice high cut). Just make sure it covers your bottom in back. 5. Long torso; Helllooo tankini! The long top balances your long torso. I love, love, love these! 6. Big thighs; a skirted bathing suit but PLEASE, make it a small skirt. There is nothing more aging than a suit that looks like a dress! 7. Big Belly; good suits have control panels built right in. It is worth the extra money to feel good about how you look. A wrap-suit is also great.
Now that you have the suit, you need accessories. Yes, I said accessories. At 20 or even 30, you didn't need them as much. At 40 or 50, they help you create your entrance. You need big, wonderful, Diva sunglasses, a hat (a really pretty beach hat); a cover-up, shoes, and a fun beach bag. Jewelry is okay, but keep it to a flashy, fun minimum. Keep everything tasteful, but bold. Believe me, people will notice YOU, not your perceived dimply thighs if you do it right! And, speaking of your beach bag, what should you have in it? How about some extra sunscreen (because you are already covered but you need to reapply), towel, a good book, water bottle, lip gloss, snacks, and flip flops for around the pool. If you are planning on changing after the pool, you can bring a change of clothes; though I don't recommend this unless absolutely necessary. If there is any way possible to stop home for a quick shower, or at the very least a wipe down and then change your clothes, that is the way to go. You will feel much better. And deodorant doesn't carry well in the heat!

The last thing I want to talk about is your actual "entrance" into the pool or beach area. Walk in with an air of confidence - never arrogance, but confidence. We all feel that people are staring at our flaws

Generally, the wedding style and formality you choose will influence, if not determine, the style of bouquet that you select. For example, if you are planning an ultra formal wedding, it's likely that your wedding gown will have a royal or cathedral length train and you'll wear a long veil. Your bouquets and other floral arrangements should also reflect this formal style. In contrast, for an informal wedding where you'll be wearing a suit or a simple dress with a sweep train or perhaps no train at all), you'll likely select a smaller bouquet, nosegay, or single-bloom style. A good rule of thumb is that your train length and wedding formality should determine the formality of your bouquet. Bouquets vary in size from small to large, but they should always be proportional in size to the person carrying it.

• Cascade
Sometimes called a teardrop, fountain, or waterfall bouquet, this sophisticated and elongated style features fullness and an abundance of blossoms at the top of the bouquet then tapers downwards with flowing foliage, floral streamers, or ribbons at the bottom. This bouquet can be designed very dense with flowers and foliage or can be more loosely arranged for an "airy" or "wispy" look.
• Crescent
A dramatic bouquet of arching flowers and foliage that extend from the center of the bouquet and can be designed to project a traditional or contemporary look. Flowers can arch from either left to right or right to left depending on preference. There are two types of crescent bouquets, symmetrical and asymmetrical. A symmetrical crescent features a balanced look with arched blossoms and foliage of the same length on both sides. An asymmetrical crescent features arched blossoms and foliage of different lengths so that one side of the bouquet is longer than the other.
• Heart
A romantic, alternative shape bouquet featuring two, full, arched shapes at the top while tapering down to a point at the bottom of the bouquet. Typically the traditional shape, often seen at Valentine's Day, symbolizing love and romance.
• Arm
Also known as a presentation or pageant bouquet, arm bouquets feature a gathering of long-stemmed flowers that rest naturally across the inner bend of the elbow. A ribbon or bow is generally used to keep the bouquet together. Popular floral choices for arm bouquets are calla lilies, gladiolus, orchids, long-stemmed roses, delphiniums, and larkspur.
• Freeform / Contemporary
As the name implies, this style bouquet often has flowers or greenery coming out at various angles with no specific, recognizable shape. Freeform and contemporary bouquets are most often designed with tropical flowers and foliage that have unique shapes.
• Oval
This bouquet is a combination of both a cascade and a round. It is elongated in shape, but features rounded shapes on both the top and bottom. Generally the bottom is narrower than the top, but the overall shape resembles an oval.
Single Stem
While not technically a bouquet, single stem arrangements have gained in popularity over recent years, as simplicity has become the trend. Single stem designs generally feature a unique design element, such as an intricately wrapped stem (for a long-stemmed flower), elaborate bow, streamers, or a decorative lace bloom collar (for a shorter stemmed flower) to give the design more interest and appeal.
• Composite
A bouquet where the focal area is a large flower that has been created by assembling together detached petals from numerous flowers. Examples of composite flowers are glamellia, duchess rose, and galax rose.
• Fan
A small bouquet or cluster of flowers attached to an elaborate fan. This style of bouquet is reminiscent of the Victorian Era, and is popular for old-fashioned or vintage style, Southern USA style, and Asian-inspired weddings.
• Pomander
A flower or foliage covered ball or cone suspended from a loop of ribbon. Adult attendants can carry pomanders, but young attendants such as flower girls and junior bridesmaids most often carry them.
• Basket
Flowers arranged and carried in a shallow basket and often used in a garden or garden-like wedding setting. Most often carried by young attendants (flower girls and junior bridesmaids).
• Wrist
Technically more of a corsage than a bouquet, this style is comprised of a small floral arrangement worn on the wrist. Starting in September, and ending in April, you can find a number of bridal shows throughout the U.S. and even in the summer months in those warmer weather areas Which to choose? Where to go? What to do? Should I sign up? Why do they want to know that? Just a ton of questions that start popping into your head as you attend a bridal fashion show. Being a wedding vendor, I too, am guilty of one or two of the following at one time or another. However, this is the insider's view and look. What vendors are actually looking at as far as you as a potential client?

1. First thing to do is get a list of the area bridal.
2. Then, pick one or two that are close to you. (Most malls have them twice a year, one fall and one spring)
3. Find one that the date is available for you, your maid/matron of honor, possibly your mother and future mother-in-law (You could just take your fiancé, however, make sure he wants to go! He's probably a little scared of them because of that 4 hours you spent together in the gift registry at Dillard's and he may equate a bridal show to that)
4. Make a day of it. Plan on lunch or dinner, shopping, and all the different ideas that you will now have in your head once you have attended. (Good idea is to take a camera. Photos are easier to explain to your local bridal shop about this dress that you seen that your bridesmaids would look great in.)

6. Dress comfortably! If you are attending a Bridal Show at a mall, you will be doing a lot of walking! Be prepared for sore feet!
7. Keep in mind, the floral arrangements you see in the fall may be quite expensive when it comes to availability in the early spring wedding. So ask questions!
8. Notebook. Get one, tie a pen on a string to it and USE IT! You will never remember which vendor told you what. You could see 15 photographers, 6 videographers, 7 bakers, 10 Disc Jockey services. Write down notes! (This helps too as far as the vendors keeping their sales pitch to the specifics rather than ranting on about things they would do)
9. Get some of those return addressed stickers that you put on envelopes. (Since you are viewing this on the web, use your label maker program in your favorite office suite) These will be used to save some writer's cramps. Use the stickers for the drawings. Rather than filling out all of those entry forms, use the stickers. (Take some 3x5 cards as well, sometimes vendors run out of entry forms and you will already have yours)
10. Don't waste your time! If you already have a hall, don't spend time looking at others. Same with your other services. It will just drag you down when you need to find a Photographer or a Disc Jockey. (If you see one of your vendors there, yes, by all means say hi! But don't get too much into details with them, they won't remember that you want to change your first dance song or the wedding album cover.)
11. Avoid the Show Special Price. (What is the difference?) If the price is good today, then it has to be good tomorrow. Why would the Show be any different? (Actually, the cost of a vendor at a show ranges from $700-$1500 and some even as high as $6000. for them to be there, if anything, they want a little more, not less)
12. Avoid the excitement sell. A good Disc Jockey, can sell the excitement of the day by entertaining your thoughts and ideas as the best they have heard all day long. They are used to performing under pressure, and can make you hire them right on the spot. If you are comfortable with them, by all means, go for it. Just remember, if they are the first one you have talked to, what does the others have to offer?
13. Major red flag here! We only have one system left available for that day. This is to create a need in your mind that if you don't book that service that day, you won't get them. Funny thing, a company who claims to have 15 full-time DJ's on staff only has one system left for your day 18 months away? Start with a week day, like the Thursday before, see if you get the same response! Think about it, if they are that booked, what are they doing at a bridal fair? Bottom line is, are you available or not? If they tell you how busy they are, or that they are closing dates because of bookings, turn it around and ask them, well, which dates are you already booked? Keep them honest, yes, they may be very good, however, don't accept any pushy sales pitch to sign now, you and your new spouse will have plenty of that when it comes time to purchase a new vehicle, house, major appliance (Insert your last major purchase here)
14. If your plan is to hire vendors that day, leave plenty of time to view them all. Pick the 2 or 3 in each area of your needs and go back and ask them when they will have time to talk with you for 30 minutes or so without being interrupted. (They will appreciate this, and will make the time for you)
15. Attend the show! Each show has the fashion show with it. Check out those $4-5000. gowns! Enjoy the different colors and gowns. It will greatly assist you in your search for that perfect gown!
16. Remember, you will be getting a lot of mail, phone calls and inquiries in the coming weeks. You wonder sometimes if you seen that many vendors. Truth is, your name, address and phone number is made available for all the vendors at the show. They will be sending you information on their business for weeks to come! *Idea here, use a wedding date just a couple of months away! This way, some will see the close date and not bother you. (You don't have to use your real wedding date)
17. Don't get discouraged! If you don't see something that gives you an idea, ask a professional in that area of expertise. They have plenty of photos of prior work that you just may find what you are in search of!

Understanding accounts as a business manager can be a big task to take on. Every company has different needs and they will vary depending on its size, type, and sector. As a business manager it can sometimes become your responsibility to make sure that the business keeps accurate records on all their accounts.

There are generally two different types of accounting information that you will want to keep track of:

1:Financial accounts
2:Management accounts

Financial accounts will describe the performance of your business; how much product you have sold and how much you have made selling your product. The financial performance of a business will have to be filed with Companies House every year. Management accounts are designed to help businesses plan and make decisions about key areas; sales, stocks, etc. With proper management accounting your business will run more effectively which is what every business strives for.

1:Financial accounts

As a business manager one of your jobs may be to keep track of the financial accounts of the business. This will usually include a historical record of the company's past performance over a period of time; generally one year; this is usually done for shareholders, employees, suppliers, bankers, and tax purposes. Public companies will usually communicate their accounts to shareholders in an annual report which as a business manager you are responsible for. The report will also contain an overview of the management accounts. Your report should include but may not be limited to the following:

>Profits and Losses. This measures how much the company has made and how much it has lost; comparing the two. It should also compare the amount of income made against the cost of goods and services and other expenses during the past year.

>Balance Sheet. This part of the report gives the shareholders and others who have access to it a snapshot of the business assets and liabilities.

>Cash flow statement. This will show how the company has generated cash and disposed of it as well as liquid funds during the review period.

2:Management Accounts

One of the other areas the business manager may be in charge of handling is the management accounts, which can help the company make some meaningful management decisions. Some of those areas may include:

>The process of sales. This may include decisions on pricing, how items are distributed and possible debtors.

>Purchasing. This can include purchasing stock records and creditors

>Believe it or not, there is no actual or legal way to prepare management accounts but without them it is difficult to run an effective business. The most important part about management accounts is being able to measure performance.

Benefits of using management accounts

Management accounts can enable your company to do many things. It can help you compare your accounts with original forecasts, manage your resources, and identify business trends. You can use management accounts for record keeping, planning and control, and also in decision making
So why is it so important as a business manager to understand accounts? Well, if you want to keep your company running effectively then learning how to manage accounts is extremely important. At the end of every year employees and most importantly upper management, owners and shareholders want to see how the company is doing. On a recent visit to Calgary, Alberta, I was taken aback to see my book on disaster capitalism selling briskly at the airport. Calgary is ground zero of North America's oil and gas boom, where business suits and cowboy hats are the de facto uniform. I had a sudden sinking feeling: did Calgary's business class think The Shock Doctrine was a how-to guide - a manual for making millions from catastrophe? Were they hoping for tips on landing no-bid contracts if the US bombs Iran?

When I get worried about inadvertently fueling the disaster complex, I take comfort in the response the book has elicited from the world's leading business journalists. That's where I learn that the very notion of disaster capitalism is my delusion - or, as Otto Reich, former adviser to President George Bush, told BBC Business Daily, it is the work "of a very confused person".Many publications have seen fit to assign business journalists to review the book. And why not? They are the experts. Unabashed fans of the late free-market evangeliser Milton Friedman, these are our primary purveyors of the idea that ballooning corporate profits are on the verge of trickling down to the citizens of the world in the form of freedom and democracy.

So in the Times, for instance, the book was reviewed by Robert Cole, who writes the paper's personal investor column and is author of the volume Getting Started in Unit and Investment Trusts (Chapter 7 - Taxing Questions: Pepping up Your Prospects). Cole was none too pepped by The Shock Doctrine, which disappointed him as "too easy to dismiss as a leftist rant". In the New York Times, the task of explaining why "it's all a grand capitalist conspiracy" fell to Tom Redburn, author of its Economic View column. "That's a lot to lay on poor Milton," Redburn sniffed.No one took it quite as hard as Terence Corcoran, the business editor of Canada's National Post. Disaster capitalism is apparently my "fevered creation". And how could I have said those things about Friedman, a man Corcoran has described as "the last great lion of free market economics"?

In the Financial Times, the unbiased dissection was carried out by John Willman, the paper's UK business editor (who, on the side, advocates shifting healthcare costs to families in Britain and tuition increases in Scotland). Willman declared the book "a polemic" and warned "impressionable readers" not to be fooled by my 60 pages of endnotes. While Cole claims I rely on "partisan contributions from the cuttings library", Willman accuses me of a far greater crime: relying on cuttings from the FT.

"She quotes the Financial Times when it suits her, for example, but not when it would be inconvenient."It's true. I do, in fact, quote the FT when it suits me. In The Shock Doctrine, I cite the paper 26 times. And this is what hurts most about the attacks from the world's business editors: even as they find new ways to dismiss me, I remain a devoted reader of their pages. Sure, financial editors have to do PR for capitalism. Their reporters, however, have a crucial market role. Investors require reliable information, and it's their job to supply it.

Without this honest reporting, I would never have understood how economic shock therapy programmes relied on external disasters - the very disaster capitalism I now learn, from these same pages, does not exist.It was from the FT that I learned of the so-called Davos Dilemma. Columnist Martin Wolf describes it as "the contrast between the world's favourable economics and troublesome politics". He explains that, in recent years, the economy has faced "a series of shocks" - from the dotcom crash to September 11 to chaos in the Middle East.

And yet the market is in "a golden period of broadly shared growth".A great deal of light is shed on the Davos Dilemma by the FT. For instance, it reported that Lockheed Martin - the biggest single winner from the economy of disaster - has begun "buying companies in the $1,000bn-a-year healthcare market". It's just one glimpse into the exploding economy of privatised disaster, with Lockheed poised to profit not only from making weapons but also from treating the people injured by them - a new era of morbid vertical integration.The FT has long explored how politicians harness disasters to push through unwanted economic policies.

In 1998, for instance, it published an article by Jeffrey Sachs outlining how the IMF took South Korea's democracy hostage, withholding a desperately needed loan until all presidential candidates committed in writing to a harsh austerity plan. Some months later, Hurricane Mitch swept Central America. I learned from the FT that, with countries still knee-deep in rubble, foreign lenders were demanding privatisations.In the first months after the US "shock and awe" attack on Iraq, the FT reported on US envoy Paul Bremer's shock therapy programme. The paper stated his decrees "make Iraq one of the most open economies in the developing world and go beyond even legislation in many rich countries".

It's a concise summary that I often draw upon.But now, after all these years of fruitful (if one-way) collaboration, the FT calls my thesis "ultimately dishonest". Stinging as this may be, I stand behind the honesty of the FT's reporting, which has been so very helpful in the evolution of my world view.I wish disaster capitalism were a product of my fevered imagination. I have recently, however, come across more evidence to support its existence. It comes from Paul B Farrell, author of publishing sensations such as The Millionaire Code and The Lazy Person's Guide to Investing. "Hot tip: Invest in 'disaster capitalism'," begins his review in Dow Jones Business News. Farrell acknowledges that an economy built on disaster "is a hot-button political issue. But for the moment, let's put aside partisan politics ... Let's look at this strictly as investors and briefly consider what may also be a guide for aggressive investors".

Many unmentionable stock tips follow.It is just as I had feared - The Shock Doctrine as a how-to-guide. At the end, however, Farrell shows some misgivings. "Is 'Disaster Capitalism' merely a hot short-term investment opportunity for you? Or is it a national 'crisis,' a warning bell, a 'shocking' call to ... rein in the 'military-industrial complex' mindset that's pushing America into a disastrous, self-destructive future?"

There are two main important things to keep in mind with any marketing mailing that will increase the effectiveness of your marketing campaign.
First, mail to a targeted list.
You need to make sure that your list is mailed to people that would be interested in your service. It doesn't do any good to mail to a thousand people when only ten percent of the people would ever be interested in your product. Try to get your lists as targeted as possible.
Next, be consistent.

One mailer isn't likely to get their attention right away. Remember that it takes six to ten times before a prospect actually pays attention to your message and knows who you are.
The first mailing will get the potential customers that need your product right now. But, not everyone will need your product the day that they see your mailer. That's why repetition is important. I've sent postcard campaigns and seen 2-3 times the response on the second or third mailing than the first. Why? Because the first time they didn't need what we offered. The second time, they had been thinking about it and remembered the first mailer we sent them. By the third time, we are now in their mind and they are ready to move forward.

I've also done four letter campaigns to very small lists get 1-2 calls from the first mailing but on the fourth mailer we'd get eight or nine calls. All from the same small list of about 25 people. As long as your list if very targeted, you can easily get higher results form more mailings. Even if your list is small.
So, remember, don't think that you have to have a large list in order to have a successful direct mail campaign in your marketing mix. You can start small and increase the size as your budget allows.

How to keep customers loyal and happy
Happy repeat customers mean profit and success for your business. A customer can be kept happy and loyal in many ways.
Offer a quality product or service and be willing to stand by it if the customer is not happy with it. Make sure that you will do all that you can to make the customer happy with your products or service. Agree to do repairs if necessary and let the person exchange the item or get a full refund.
Come up with a new line of products and services to keep the customers interested and excited whenever shopping in your store. Keep them informed about the new products or when you are having an end of season sale. Let them know you appreciate their business and want to keep them on your valuable customers list.

Increasing sales through product improvements rather than new products can give you a head start in the industry. You already have regular, well established customers from whom you have collected information in order to identify their buying habits. The key is to keep your existing customers, and convince your new ones to buy more of your existing product lines. Your established product market share is truly the goose that lays the golden egg.
If you own a small store or a kiosk, present the new and improved products to your front line and make them stand out from other products. Make sure you place them in a way that they are appealing, attractive, affordable and very accessible.
Demonstrate what the improved item can do and couldn’t do before. Demonstrate it in many ways in front of the customers. Show pictures of the old and the new and improved item. Display it so the customers can see what it looks like and be prepared to answer questions. You can also throw a discount of 10 percent for the first 50 people that buy the new and improved item.

1. What are your legitimate threats? When trying to modify the idea to incorporate reality in your business plan, you need to think about the legitimate threats that exist for your business. Although this is not a fun part of business, you need to think about what threats there are for your business. These threats usually come in the form of competitors, but they do not have to be. Maybe a business threat includes the location for your business or perhaps it includes the amount of business money that it placed in stocks. When trying to incorporate reality into your business plans, you will need to list and assess all of your possible threats to your business. After doing this, you should look and see how your ideal should be modified in connection with these threats. For example, if the stock market plummets, what kinds of things need to be modified in your ideal so that your business can stay afloat?
2. What strengths do your competitors have? This is another not-nice reality that businesses often do not like to think about. However, most competitors do have some type of advantage over your company, or you wouldn’t really consider them to be competitors, right? You need to take the strengths of your competitors into consideration when thinking about the ideal and reality of your business situation. How will you be able to attack or better these strengths? Be realistic when you are thinking about time and what you will need to do to beat out your competitors. When you are thinking about the strengths of your competitors, you will be able to better modify your ideal because you will be able to realistically envision the difficulties you will have while working against your competitors.
3. What weaknesses do you and your competitors have? After thinking about the strengths of your competitors, you should also consider their weaknesses. You should think about these weaknesses in regards to your own business especially. Are you able to overcome the weaknesses of your competitors in your business? Or, are your weaknesses even more fragile than those of your competitors? If this is the case, then you will be better able to modify your ideal to incorporate reality, after realizing how much work you have just to overcome your internal weaknesses.
4. Do not aim to high for projected profits. One of the biggest problems for those creating business plans is that they are not able to modify their ideal profit to incorporate reality. This is one of the biggest problems because business plans often are targeted to work off of the projected profit over time, and if you never reach that ideal profit, you’re in a lot of trouble! Instead, you need to be realistic when thinking about projected profits for your business. Look at the statistics and see how much you have been able to earn over time. Make your projected profits somewhere in line with the trends that you see indicated through these statistics. The answer to this is to keep you employees happy and motivated. This is not an impossible task, it can be done. You can help motivate your team several ways. Let's talk about how you can link achievement to the prospect of future success to help motivate your team.
When your employees have shown you that they can perform their daily duties and they have made you proud you need to tell them. Often times recognition of success is what motivates people to work harder in the future. One obvious way of future success in a company would be moving up into a high position, like a management position. Ensure all of your employees that any open management position is open to anyone who applies, and that each time they are successful, they gain more opportunity for consideration. You should also tell them that the one who has shown the best job performance will have the best chance of receiving the job. Make sure that you are open to talk to any employee who has questions on what they can do better. This will help you employees get motivated to do the best they can, because they will know there is a management position waiting for them.

Perhaps there are no positions available and no promise of a move up for anyone at this time. You can encourage your employees by holding and employee of the month nomination and an employee of the month vote. Tell your employees that you will be watching them and their job performance, and that you and the other managers will nominate the employee with a peak performance. Next you will let your employee’s vote for which nominated employee they think deserves employee of the month. This will encourage your employees to up their work performance, because the thought of being the best employee for the month is something any employee would want to shoot for.Use examples of achieved success. If you know someone who has gone for the bottom of the corporate ladder to the top, use their success story to motivate your employees. When you have people that work for you who are convinced that they will never achieve anything in their life it can be hard to change their mind and get them to think differently and shoot for more in life. Sometimes all it takes is a true story example to get someone motivated to do better. Explain to your employees that they might not have a successful outcome at first but that they need to start trying, and keep trying.
These were just a few examples to help your employees get motivated by showing them the prospect for future success. You can talk to other managers that you know and ask them how they motivate their employees, another person’s insight might help. Remember to always be there for your employees, they are more likely to be motivated for work when they like the people that they work with.

You also want to find out if there is anything you can help to solve any problems they may have encountered through the process of buying or using your service. If you can, use some of your customers’ ideas in your improvements.

Go the extra mile to show your customers your appreciation and that you care. Send a little thank you note after you received their payment and go further by letting them know how you hope that they will to continue to do business with you.
Loyal and happy customers are essential to the success of your business. You want to focus on making the customers happy and to have them continue doing business with you again and again. Creating an Effective Sales Presentation

Creating a winning sales presentation is more than an introduction, a lecture, a summary, and an end. Now more than ever your clients are savvy, know what they need, and expect nothing but the best from potential service providers. So before you make that presentation, there are a few things to keep in mind while you're preparing.
First, you must research thoroughly. You may think you know the important components of your prospect's business, but think again. Delve deep into the business to get an inside view of your prospects' daily lives and business issues. Discover what the prospect's goals, objectives, mission, and values are before you even create the first draft of your presentation. Find out what makes the prospect tick - and what issues they have. From this research, you'll be able to create a presentation that shows you've done your homework. On top of this, your presentation will answer the most important question your prospect has: what's in it for me?
Next, make sure that your presentation is interactive. Have you ever sat through a presentation that was "all talk"? Did the salesperson simply go from the beginning to the end without pause, without gaining input from the prospect? Are you one of those salespeople? Observe very carefully how your prospects are reacting to your presentations. Are they bored? Do they check their Blackberries or slip out to take important phone calls? If this is happening, or even if it's not, the key word for an effective presentation is interactivity. Be creative with your presentation by asking questions - and waiting for the response from your prospects. Use the information you've discovered in your research to formulate your questions. Then, use the prospects' answers to move forward. It may be helpful to remember the AIDA method for sales presentations: get the prospect's attention, create interest with useful information, create desire by offering something they need, and ask for immediate action.
In technical terms, your presentation should engage your prospects without distracting them from what you're saying. For this reason, slides or visuals should be kept to a minimum of words. Use the key words and actions from your presentation and talk through the rest. In addition, consider using graphics in your presentation, especially if you are using an application like Power Point.

But be careful with graphics. They should be professional and appropriate, and should create a "memory" in the prospect's mind. Avoid using "silly" graphics, clip art drawings, or graphics that move and make sounds. Instead, use professionally produced photographs that relate specifically to the information you're talking about on each slide or page.

You can find images like this in Power Point's Clip Art gallery under photographs. Or, you can visit websites like istockphoto (istockphoto.com), where you can search for graphics using the terms and words from your presentation.
In your presentation, focus on the customer. Explain how you are going to solve their problems with your product or service. Use the benefits of your product or service to make a direct connection with the prospect and answer the "what's in it for me?" question. In relation to focusing on the customer, create an agenda, explain it, and stick to it. There's nothing worse than a lack of respect for your prospect's time.

Finally, take the time to practice for every presentation you make. Your skills increase with every single presentation, but the information will always be different if you're following the steps we've discussed. Practice your presentation in front of a mirror, with a colleague, or even in front of a video camera. You'll be able to see where your strengths are - and what opportunities you can use to improve your presentation and your delivery techniques.

Remember to avoid an unprofessional appearance, boring lectures, a failure to create rapport with the prospect through your research, and TMI (too much information). If you employ these tactics when you plan every sales presentation, you'll be well on track for closing the sale every time.

BUSINESS WITHOUT FEAR

Synopsis: Fear, a backdrop to the 20th.century, is giving way to a brighter future and expanding the horizons for new businesses.

There are changes going on around us in the very fabric that makes up the business world - a fundamental shift in the way society operates. Fear has driven us and it is waning. Not only fear of nuclear weapons, but other more subtle terrors have haunted our lives, this past century. The changes this easing allows will have profound effect on the business scene as we know it. The lessening fear of not having a regular income, is one such. Several generations have been born to parents afraid of losing their jobs and raised in the illusion of 'job security'. This had become fundamental to our way of thinking. Yet, there never was such a thing as job security , and the illusion is coming to an end.

Similarly, the idea that 'trade secrets' will protect your business has had its day. Businesses are making their internal workings public, so that other businesses may copy them, and the creators are benefiting in the process.

Paradoxically, this change in attitude is happening at a slower pace than the growth and development of the technology that makes it possible. Mankind is changing its world faster than it can change itself. The internet is expanding by leaps and bounds, but it is a relative few who are taking advantage of the possibilities. If you want a business that will thrive in the 21st.century, you have to base it on 21st.century thinking. New habits and new ideas must be your building blocks and, as more and more people shake off the chains, the business world will be turned on its head!

Even now, it is possible for people who have never met to enter into business arrangements, and have it done in a matter of hours. Across the country or around the world, the internet helps people create alliances that are formed as if distance was no longer of consequence - as indeed it is not. My Texas-based business was recently part of a project with a marketing consultant in Holland to expand the business of a city tour operator in New York.

Trust is taking on a new meaning. In fact, trust has been the very foundation of business since the beginning, but trust has been maligned as a business tool. We have tried to protect ourselves with lengthy contracts and due diligence investigations, and we are beginning to find much time, effort and profit was squandered in the process.

Nothing prevents action more surely than fear. Fear is, probably, our most common emotion; and our most debilitating one. The strange thing is, most of our fears have no real basis. The things we are most afraid of are usually simply imagination. "What will happen if I do work for someone far away in cyberspace and they do not pay me?" Well, why would they not pay you? If you have done a good job, they will want you to continue. They will want to keep you working for them, and not take your talents to a competitor!

Just like a child hearing monsters under the bed, we conjure up in our minds all sorts of disasters that might happen. To calm the child, you turn on the light and show them there is no reason to be afraid. So it is for us adults. The fears we have, sometimes leave us in the dark, too petrified to move ahead. Yet, when we expose them to the light of reason, we can see they are imaginary. We all experience fear at one time or another. The only true way to overcome fear is to confront it. How you confront it is what determines whether or not you will be successful. Courage to confront your fear is crucial to success. And, like success itself, you build this courage one step at a time, through small incremental changes that reach to the core of your belief system.

Executive Summary:
Write this last. It’s just a page or two of higlights.
Company Description:
Legal establishment, history, start-up plans, etc.
Product or Service:
Describe what you’re selling. Focus on customer benefits.

Market Analysis:
You need to know your market, customer needs, where they are, how to reach them, etc.
Strategy and Implementation: Be specific. Include management responsibilities with dates and budgets. Make sure you can track results.

Web Plan Summary:
For e-commerce, include discussion of website, development costs, operations, sales and marketing strategies.

Management Team:
Describe the organization and the key management team members.

Financial Analysis:
Make sure to include at the very least your projected Profit and Loss and Cash Flow tables.
I don’t recommend developing the plan in the same order you present it as a finished document. For example, although the Executive Summary obviously comes as the first section of a business plan, I recommend writing it after everything else is done. It will appear first, but you write it last.
Standard Tables and Charts
There are also some business tables and charts that are normally expected in a standard business plan.
Cash flow is the single most important numerical analysis in a plan, and should never be missing. Most plans will also have Sales Forecast and Profit and Loss statements. I believe they should also have separate Personnel listings, projected Balance sheet, projected Business Ratios, and Market Analysis tables.
I also believe that every plan should include bar charts and pie charts to illustrate the numbers.
